Marketing Leeds promote Leeds as a destination city for Leisure, Business and Students. As part of their summer marketing strategy, Marketing Leeds wanted to promote the city’s events and attractions to a national audience.
We designed and branded a 12 page supplement called Leeds Loves Summer to be distributed inside the Saturday Guardian to over 70 000 readers nationwide. The Saturday Guardian features The Guide supplement, a publication that promotes arts, culture and events, so it was a perfect publication with which to promote the Leeds Loves Summer programme of events.
The content had to be engaging, lively and intelligent to promote all events and activities that were taking place across the summer months. We considered the audience's interests and categorised all the events and attractions into five areas of reader interest - Arts, Outdoors, Sport, Food, Nightlife and Family. We chose stylised photography to support the narrative of the sections and featured a useful transport and hotels section.
